Presently, the Ford Explorer and mountaineer have been designed with a new frame with a stronger base. The interiors of the Ford Explorer are new, and come with a redesigned rear suspension. The seating capacity of the Ford Explorer is great, with it having 3 rows seating capacity. However, when not required, this 3rd row seat can be folded with its power folding feature. Along with this, Ford Explorer comes with a tire pressure monitoring system and electronic stability control that is the standard feature of Ford Explorer.
The latest Ford Explorer has no right hand drive version and is being marketed in Japan as a left hand drive configuration as LHD vehicles are prestigious here. The engine is strong here, with a six-speed automatic transmission accompanying the engine. There is a sophisticated Roll Stability Control feature included in the Ford Explorer for safety's sake of the driver and this prevents the vehicle from rolling over in extreme conditions. This is possible by using the anti-lock brakes found in the vehicle, one wheel at a time once the system finds out a potential loss of control over the vehicle.
This Ford Explorer was nominated as the North American truck of the year for the year 2006. This Ford Explorer had slow sales in its introduction, only to improve over some time. This model has the option of choosing V8 engine as an option to be used on the larger explorer platform. The special 2007 SVT model of Ford Explorer is called the Sport Trac Adrenalin and is a supercharged version of the previous version.
